With the sun shining in Conifer and blessed by excellent riding weather, more than 50 bikes started the Mad Dog Custom Cycles Fall Titty Bar Poker Run benefitting the Christmas for Kids program. This run is one of many events held by Mark and Debbie of Maddog to support what has become a very popular and worthy program.
Seeing how Christmas and the actual toy delivery part of the program was still a ways off, little time was wasted and riders hit the road, making their way down the hill through Evergreen, Kittredge and Ideldale, Morrison and on into Denver, on a quest for good times with scantily clad women in the city’s finest, and not so fine, peeler bars.
The group arrived at Shotgun Willie’s around noon and was welcomed with burgers, hotdogs, drink specials, door prizes, the second card and of course hot entertainment. It was so hot, the girls had no choice but to take off their clothes!
Oh, wait…that was the whole point of the run. Never mind…but it was hot.
From there, it was a race against the building clouds to get to PT’s Showclub for more entertainment, drink specials, door prizes and the third card.
With the good weather holding, riders made the run across town to The Penthouse Club. There, the fourth card awaited, and an air guitar contest, door prizes and good times made it a great stop. The Penthouse Club also featured a very nice buffet…both food and girls.
Heading for Long Shots in Wheatridge, the skies finally opened up a little and a few light showers cooled down everyone who’d gotten worked up, but did little to dampen spirits, as riders arrived ready for the after party.
High hand for the day was a boat—three aces and a pair of kings—and while there were a few disappointed gamblers, most didn’t really care…they’d spent the day on motorcycles chasing boobs. What a great way to spend a day, and all for a great cause.
The Maddog Christmas For Kids program provides a who would not otherwise have one.
This is one of the few Christmas events in which all proceeds go directly to the cause with no administrative costs taken out.
The children receive, shoes, clothing, toys, school supplies, books, and the families that need it get a weeks’ worth of food. The children’s names are acquired from social services, fire departments, word of mouth etc. A few days before Christmas, Mark, Debbie and their helpers get together to wrap all the presents and plan out a delivery schedule for Christmas Eve, and then spend the day, and night, delivering the goodies.
